Making the most out of whats already there: Buy Nothing New Year

In the land of opportunity it is easy overlook all of the amazing blessing that we are surrounded with. It’s easy to get caught up in what you don’t have, when you are surrounded by a culture that is geared towards acquiring the newest, the biggest, and the most expensive.

When you see a video, or read a story about another country who has so little, is torn apart by war, by violence, by famine, and chaos it is like looking at an alien planet, or some alternate reality.

It is a stark reminder about what is really important, about how much we have that we don’t really even need, how much we waste, how much we are given for so little in return.

………or maybe it’s not, maybe you don’t realize exactly how blessed you are, how much you really have and we have a challenge for you to see exactly how infinitely blessed you are.

This year we challenge you to a “buy nothing new year”. To take the entire year to make the most out of what you already have, buying no new clothes, no new devices, electronics, shoes, or…….junk. Spend the year only buying the bear essentials, shampoo, deodorant, soap, etc, buying used products, or refurbishing what you have.

Take a year not to suffer, or deny yourself, but to truly enjoy and get the most out of what you have!
